It’s another big football Friday around the area today. Broken Bow will travel to Minden today for a C1-6 district showdown. Broken Bow enters at 5-1 while Minden enters at 4-2. Both teams are undefeated in district play. After dropping their season opener, Broken Bow has won five in a row including a 43-19 win over Holdrege last week. KCNI/KBBN sports asked Broken Bow head coach Carlie Wells what he believes the keys have been to the five game winning streak.
“I think our kids have really listened and learned. We have a lot of new starters and they’ve just really taken everything that we’ve went through on film trying to teach them and they’re trying to do our technique and be physical.”
Broken Bow and Minden are at the top of the C1-6 district standings. The Indians are 2-0 in district play with wins over Cozad and Holdrege. Minden has played just one district game thus far winning against Holdrege 33-3.
Tonight’s Broken Bow / Minden showdown will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com. Coverage begins with the Custer Federal State Bank pregame show at 6 p.m. followed by the kickoff at 7.
