The Broken Bow cross country teams competed Saturday at the North Platte Invite. In the girls race, Broken Bow placed six runners in the top 20. Placing in the top ten were Ashlyn Schauda who finished 8th (21:54.07) and Jaycee Staples was 9th (22:50.39). Finishing 15th was Gaby Staples (23.38.37) and Genesis Guervara was 16th (23:39.82). Rylie Wistisen of Broken Bow placed 18th overall (23:58.29) and Maydee Guervara was 20th (24:00.26). The girls individual champion was Lindee Henning of Ogallala in a winning time of 18:52.99.
In the boys race, Broken Bow placed four runners in the top 20. Finishing in the top fifteen were Brock Oeltjen who was 11th (18:08.48), Jackson Hansen was 12th (18:08.48) and Asher Jensen was 15th (18:25.85). Tallin Harold placed 19th (18:42.98). The boys individual champion was Jarrett Miles of North Platte St. Pat’s in a winning time of 16:45.25.
In other area highlights, top finishers for Sandhills Valley were Keith Morash finishing 23rd in the boys race and Ali Trimble placed 26th in the girls race. Top finishers for Cozad were Shank Shall finishing 16th in the boys race and Gabby Vazquez was 27th in the girls race.
