Bow Seniors Split Doubleheader with McCook

The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team traveled to McCook Wednesday night for a doubleheader.

Bow fell in extra innings in game one.  The Bow seniors started strong building a 6-0 lead after four innings but McCook would come back scoring 3 runs in the 5th and 3 more in the sixth inning to tie the game and send it into extra innings.  The game remained tied until McCook scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to win 7-6.  Broken Bow outhit McCook 13-6.  Eli Coble and Caden Holm each finished 3 for 5 to lead the offense.  Coy Wardyn and Hagen Campbell also finished with a multi hit game.

Broken Bow came back to take game two of the doubleheader.  The game was tied 4-4 after two innings but Broken Bow would put the game away with a nine run 4th inning on their way to a 13-5 win.  Gavin Goodner pitched a complete game for the win giving up just 3 hits and striking out 7.  Bow’s 13 runs came on just five hits.  Max Denson and Gavin Goodner each drove in a pair of runs and Brice Chaplin drove in three with a base hit.
