Broken Bow’s Camryn Johnson competed at the 2023 Optimist Junior Golf qualifier at the York Country Club in York, NE on Thursday. Johnson finished third overall in the girls 15-18 year old division with a round of 82 which was one shot behind Kaylynn Jorgensen of Minden who was second and just two shots behind the winner Julia Karazim of Elkhorn North. As a result of her top three finish in the event, Johnson qualified for the Optimist International Tournament which is scheduled to take place at the Doral Resort in Miami, FL July 24-29. The course at Doral has been the home for several PGA tournaments and championships over the years. Junior golfers from all over the world will compete in the 54 hole (stroke play) tournament.
