Broken Bow and Sandhills Valley competed at the C-5 district boys golf tournament in Kimball on Monday. The top three teams and top ten individuals plus ties qualified for the NSAA Class C boys golf state championships. Kearney Catholic was the team champion with a low team score of 312. Amherst was 2nd with a 332 and Kimball was third with a 350. Sandhills Valley (Stapleton / McPherson County) finished 4th in the team standings with a 374. Broken Bow placed 7th with a 391 team score.
The individual champion was Cael Peters of Mitchell who shot a low round of 72. Cole Kramer of Sandhills Valley qualified for state finishing in a tie for 6th place with a round of 80. It took a round of 82 to finish in the top ten and qualify for state. Broken Bow was led by Zack Gaffney who finished in the top 20 with a round of 92.

The Class C boys golf state championships will take place on May 23rd and 24th at Elks Country Club in Columbus
Mullen competed at the D-5 district tournament hosted by Bridgeport at Courthouse and Jail Rock golf course. The team champion was Bridgeport followed by Hemingford in 2nd and Perkins County was third. The individual champion was Zaybreon Hansen of Perkins County who shot a low round of 75. It took a round 91 to qualify for state. Mullen did not have any one place in the top ten and finished 7th in the team standings with a 405.
South Loup (Callaway/Arnold) competed at the D-4 district tournament hosted by Cambridge at Cross Creek Golf Links. Overton was the team champion followed by Loomis in second and Hitchcock County was third. Braden Fleischman of Overton was the individual champion with a round of 80. It took a round of 89 to qualify for state. South Loup did not have any one place in the top ten and finished 9th in the team standings with a 418 team score.
The NSAA Class D boys state golf championships will take place May 23rd and 24th at North Platte’s Lake Maloney Golf Club.
