Broken Bow Opens Legion Baseball Season Against Overton

Broken Bow opened its American Legion Baseball season Sunday hosting Overton at Paul Brown Field.  Overton won the juniors game 6-2.  Overton never trailed in picking up the win.  Broken Bow’s two runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning.  The big hit of the inning came off the bat of Isaac O’Brien who delivered with an RBI double.  O’Brien would later score in the inning but those would be the only runs Broken Bow would score as Overton held on for the win.

The Broken Bow seniors faced Overton in what would turn out to be an exhibition as Overton will not officially field a seniors team this season due to numbers.  The Overton juniors team came out to face the Bow seniors team.  Broken Bow batted through the order twice and sent their leadoff batter, Xach Lowry, to the plate three times in a 16 run first inning.  Brice Chaplin delivered twice with the bases loaded finishing 2 for 2 with a double and single and 4 RBI.  Kayden Record was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI.  Caden Holm pitched two scoreless innings giving up just one hit and striking out five.  The game was called after two innings.

Next for Broken Bow is a juniors and seniors doubleheader against Ravenna at Paul Brown Field on May 22nd.  The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com with an 8 p.m. scheduled start time.
