The Nebraska High School Rodeo spring season began this past weekend with rodeos in Hyannis and Arthur. Among the area highlights at Saturday’s competition in Hyannis, Ella Switzer of Burwell posted the winning time in the pole bending at 21.973 seconds. On Sunday in Arthur, Sid Miller of Merna was the tie down roping champion with a winning time of 11.32 seconds. Gracie and Emma Pearson of Broken Bow tied for first in the girls cutting on Sunday as each posted a score of 72. Lillian Fletcher of Arnold won the breakaway roping on Sunday with a winning time of 2.79 seconds.
