WyoBraska Gives helps local non-profit organizations

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) – Wyobraska Gives provides a way for the community to donate to to their favorite local non profit. Donations start at $10 to go to these organizations.

Wyobraska Gives said they offer a silent auction on their web page and you can bid on items including a vacation to Mexico or hot air balloon ride. Platte Valley Companies and the Oregon Trail Community Foundation offer incentive prizes. Wyobraska Gives helps boost the visibility for these non profits.

“Most people don’t even know they exist so just going through and scrolling through the list and seeing those names there,” said Becky Horne Wyobraska Gives Organizer. “That awareness to these non profits that is good as gold for some of them just be a volunteer is good as gold. But you know so often they don’t have the advertising budget to go and put their names out there that’s what we’re here for.”

Wyobraska Gives said their motto is “Stronger Together”. The goal is to bring people together and target donor bases that traditionally do not ask for donations. The current number for volunteer hours pledged amounts to 751. The Silent Auction goes until 8 P.M. tonight and donations go until midnight.

“It’s part of the social fabric of where we live,” said Hos Kosman. “Times are not always great there’s always some issues in life and these entities that we are trying to bring dollars to bring investment in to their coffers do great things for our community.
