Survivors coming together: Relay for Life events start-up in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Neb. – Over 2,500 Relay for Life events are happening around the nation, and part of those supporters are in northeast Nebraska.

Although it’s not a traditional event like in past year, the Norfolk Area Relay for Life is marking its 26th year with lots of activities.

“The rural communities have big, big hearts and we find that when we do any type of per capita report our rural communities are way above the line for any metro event that we have,” said Stephanie Stephenson, Senior Development Manager with the American Cancer Society.

Stephenson said there will be events everyday starting on June 5 and ending on June 14, giving everyone a chance to get involved.

Relay Day is on June 12.
