A police pursuit that at times reached high speeds ended in a downtown Omaha parking garage Friday night.
Officers began pursuing a white U-Haul pickup truck near Regency Parkway and Pacific Street shortly after 10 p.m., Lt. Nick Muller said. The driver, Jesse Fields, 33, of Omaha, was being sought after an unspecified altercation on Thursday.
The pursuit ended about half an hour later when Fields crashed the U-Haul through a parking control arm blocking access to the parking garage connected to the Omaha World-Herald building at 14th and Douglas Streets.
Once in the garage, Fields exited the vehicle and proceeded on foot before police entered the garage and apprehended him.
