REV Development requests $300,000 from the Quality Growth Fund

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – The Platte River Mall renovation project took another step forward on Tuesday. With The North Platte Area Chamber approving the developers application for quality growth funds. They asked for a $300,000 loan for phase one of the remodel.

The south portion of the mall will be addressed first, renovating utilities, new asphalt and more.

“New tenants will have front spaces that face Dewey Street. Entrances from Dewey street with parking right in front of the door.” – Mike Works, Co-owner of REV Development LLC

With plans to have the first phase completed this year, the developers are excited to announce that the movie theater will be returning after renovating the current theater. The developers hope to be open by late fall of 2021

“We are very excited by the vote today. The committee asked some great questions and I got the opportunity to talk about why we need the Quality Growth Fund funds. And it’s really to do the front of the mall the way it should be done that will allow us to attract the type of tenants that we really want.” – Mike Works, Co-owner of REV Development LLC

Works says REV Development plans to ask for an additional $700,000 in May of 2022 for remodeling the north side of the mall. They want to rebuild the main part of the existing mall and tear down the four buildings surrounding it. The final plan creates a total of 11 additional buildings for retail and entertainment.

The application for $300,000 will go to city council on May, 4 of 2021.
