President Trump Issues Major Disaster Declaration for Nebraska following June Storms

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Federal assistance will be coming to local Nebraska communities after President Donald Trump declared a Major Declaration of Disaster this week The governor, both US senators and all three congressmen, asked the president for the declaration on Monday, following June storms. The storms, which took place from June 12th to 17th, caused over $13.7 million worth of damage to 18 Nebraska counties. The six tornadoes, strong winds and golf-ball sized hail damaged power lines, public and private property, irrigation systems, as well as injuring and killing livestock. The approval by President Trump will allow federal funds to go towards repairing the damage.
