Nebraska state troopers find 100 pounds of marijuana in 5 stops on I-80

GRAND ISLAND (AP) — Nebraska troopers seized about 100 pounds of marijuana and arrested several people in five traffic stops in less than 24 hours on Interstate 80.

The Nebraska State Patrol said in a press release last week that the first stop occurred Tuesday afternoon and the last was Wednesday morning. In all, eight people were arrested.

Two stops were near Kimball, and the others were near North Platte, Kearney and Giltner.

According to the patrol, troopers found 85 pounds of marijuana in one of the vehicles. The vehicles in the four other stops were each found with less than 10 pounds of marijuana.
