Lincoln police have identified the woman who was found slain in the northern part of the city on New Year’s Eve.

Dijah Ybarra, 21, was found lying in a driveway in the 1900 block of Montclair Drive, which is between Superior Street and Cornhusker Highway. She had been stabbed several times.

Ybarra, who was found about 7:10 p.m., was taken to the hospital. She was pronounced dead just after 7:35 p.m.

Neland Tevionn Gray Jr., 21, was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

Lincoln police said Ybarra and Gray had two children together.

An autopsy showed Ybarra died of her stab wounds. Police say their investigation indicates that Gray first assaulted Ybarra in her Chevy Impala minutes before officers were called to the Montclair Drive address.
