Family asks for access to land across Nebraska City hunting lease

NEBRASKA CITY – Karen Stigge of Omaha asked city commissioners Monday for safe passage across land the city recently leased out for private recreational purposes.

Stigge told commissioners her father, Frank Ramold, has owned land along the Missouri River for over 80 years and gained possession of accretion land after the river was channelized.

She said farm equipment has accessed the parcel from the north, but the southern path through the city’s property has been an important access point.

City commissioners said they would reach out to the lease holder Justin Walters about allowing a direct path to the Ramold acres.
