Douglas County closing in on 700 COVID-19 deaths

OMAHA, Neb. — Douglas County is closing in on another grim COVID-19 milestone.

Although the number of deaths from the pandemic has slowed across Nebraska, the state’s most populous county is on the verge of 700 deaths.

Two more deaths were reported this week, a man in his ‘40’s and another man in his ‘50’s, bringing the total in Douglas County to 696.

According to the health department, over 62,000 of the county have recovered from COVID-19.
