KEARNEY – One month after the July flooding an anonymous donor has given $100,000 to the Kearney Area Community Foundation for the Disaster Relief Fund.
The check showed up at the Foundation mailbox last Friday and the timing of the gift couldn’t be better.
Along with the United Way of the Kearney Area, the Foundation will be sending out letters and application forms this week to households that recorded damages with local organizations after the disaster.
In order to be eligible to receive the relief funds of up to $700, residents with verified flood loss will need to fill out the application.
