Detached trailer causes three-vehicle accident in Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) – A Scottsbluff man was injured in a three-vehicle accident after a trailer detached from a moving pickup Friday afternoon, Scottsbluff Police announced.

Police officers arrived at the scene of the car accident at Stable Club Road and Five Rocks Road at 1:23 p.m. to find a trailer had detached from a southbound pickup driven by 26-year-old Scottsbluff resident Nicandro Quevedo. The trailer hit Charles Flint, 74, of Scottsbluff going northbound in his Ford pickup and Kaiden Reinmuth, 20, of Gering, in a Ford Fusion.

Flint reported a cut to his torso and was transported to Regional West Medical Center in a private vehicle, according to Scottsbluff Police.

No citations have been issued at this time. The case remains under investigation.

The Scotts Bluff County Sherriff’s Office, Scottsbluff Fire Department, Valley Ambulance Services, and the Scotts Bluff Rural Fire Department assisted at the scene.
