Biker for a Day Poker Run to raise money for charities

CHAPPELL, NE — An annual poker run led by a group of motorcycle riders in the Panhandle is sticking to its giving ways for the event’s 15th iteration. 

The Biker for a Day Poker Run with the Junkyard Dogs of Chappell, Neb. is set for Sunday, May 30. The event will raise money for the Night of Hope Walk for Cancer and Golden Halo Foundation. 

The ride will begin at Toots Bar and Grill in Chappell with sign in beginning at 9:00 a.m. 

Riders will get the day started by heading to Rd’s in Sedgwick, Colo. before making the trip to Haxtun, Colo.’s Community Center. 

The motorcycle riders will make one final stop in Colorado at the VFW in Holyoke for lunch. The meal will be cash only and is being served by the local FFA and FBLA. 

The group will then travel back into the Cornhusker state to finish the ride with a stop at the VFW in Imperial, Neb. before heading to Front Street in Ogallala, Neb. The riders will finish the day by traveling back to Toots. 

There will be a silent auction and 50/50 raffle as part of the event. The Junkyard Dogs are also raffling off a motorcycle, although tickets for that have sold out.
