Airplane crashes, skids off runway at Hastings airport; no injuries

HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) — A fire chief says no one was injured in a plane crash Friday morning at the Hastings airport.
Firefighters and other first responders were dispatched to Hastings Municipal Airport around 8 a.m. Friday. Hastings Fire Chief Kent Gilbert said his medics checked the pilot and co-pilot and found no injuries. No one else was on board.
Gilbert said the plane crashed upon landing, skidded off the runway, and ended up with its nose on the ground. He said he did not know what caused the crash. He could not provide details about the aircraft.
Federal air safety officials have been called in to investigate.
