Memorial Services for Howard Morton Russell, 90 of Rural Gates will be held Friday, July 28, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the Berean Bible Church; 43807 Memorial Drive, Broken Bow NE. Pastor Don Schauda of Comstock will be officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Govier Mortuary, then 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting friends Thursday 6:00 -8:00 PM at the Berean Bible Church. In lieu of Flowers, Memorials are suggested to Berean Bible Church (Broken Bow) Building Fund, Gates Community Center or Gates Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of arrangements.
Howard is survived by his wife of 69 years Marjorie at the Broken Bow Care & Rehab Center. Sister Joan Myers of the Lillian area, brother Roger Russell of Ashland, NE. Also, surviving are children: Marian (Hal) Williams of rural Merna, NE, Maurine Ritter of Lincoln, NE, Duane (Marjorie) Russell rural Gates, Deborah (David) Hargadine rural Kremmling CO.
Howard was born November 21, 1926, Gates Nebraska in his parents home, Arch & Inez Freeman Russell. He was the oldest of four children. His earthly body will be laid to rest in the Gates Cemetery where he was Board Secretary/Treasurer for 55 years.
Howard passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, the Broken Bow Care and Rehab Center. He had entered the Rehab Center in November 2016 following a minor stroke.
