Dennis Lee Thomas died July 15, 2017, at the Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron, Nebraska. Dennis was born October 1, 1947, in North Platte, Nebraska to Duane and Eleanor (Kelly) Thomas. During his life, Dennis lived on the Thomas family ranch on the banks of the Dismal River in Thomas County, Mack, Colorado, and Ansley, Nebraska before moving in 1983 to the Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron Nebraska where he resided for the remainder of his life.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Duane Thomas, his step father, Vernon Dewey, and many other relatives. He is survived by his mother Eleanor Dewey of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; brother, Lynn Thomas, and wife, Angie of McCook; 2 nephews; Brian Thomas and wife, Kristina Rogers of McCook and Caeden Thomas and wife, Samantha of Aurora, Colorado, grand niece Serenity Thomas, his paternal aunt, Pattie Sells of Olympia, Washington, many cousins, and the wonderful staff and administration at the care home where Dennis lived for so many years. They were an important part of Dennis’s family.
Graveside Services will be held August 16th at 10:30 am at the Broken Bow Township Cemetery in Broken Bow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dennis’s name to Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home, PO Box 166, Hebron, NE 68370.
