Zelpha M. Sherman age 90, of Mullen, passed away on September 25, 2018, at the Pioneer Memorial Care Home in Mullen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 11:00 AM MT at the Mullen United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Cedar View Cemetery at Mullen. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mullen Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Pioneer Memorial Rest Home. Zelpha Martha Sherman was born on November 27, 1927, south of Ashby, NE to Jess and Rosa (Dubs) Rentfro. She attended school south of Mullen, NE. Zelpha was married to Richard B. Sherman in 1950. The family made their home on the Sherman Ranch north of Mullen. Two sons were born to this union, Chevron, and Philip. Zelpha lived on the ranch until her health forced her to move to the care home in March of 2018.
Zelpha was a great mother, a gardener, enjoyed embroidering and was a wonderful cook. Zelpha enjoyed working on the ranch all week and going to church on Sunday. She spent many days helping at the church for funeral dinners. She loved being on horseback and helping Richard with the cattle.
Zelpha is survived by her sons; Chevron and wife Lis Sherman of Mullen and Philip and wife Christi Sherman of Mullen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard in 1996, her sisters Frances and Rosa, and a brother Paul.
