Funeral services for  William (Bill) Jensen, age 81
March 2, 1937 - July 30, 2018

Funeral services for William (Bill) Jensen, age 81, will be Monday, August 6, 2018, at the United Church of Christ in Purdum, NE at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Diana Jahn officiating. Burial will follow at the Purdum Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018, from 1 to 6 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, NE, and on Monday prior to the funeral services at the United Church of Christ.

Bill was born On March 2nd, 1937, to Raymond and Nellie (Baird) Jensen the youngest of 5 children Bill attended his first year of school at district 19. He then spent a few years at Dunning grade school, He spent his freshman year at Broken Bow. He moved back to Dunning Graduating in 1955. After graduation Bill joined the US Marines in 1957 and was sent to Camp Pendleton CA. being honorable discharge in 1959 After his discharge Bill did day work, for his dad, McAdams, and Wiebush Ranches, Bill also worked for Blaine Co and Rodocker Construction.

In 1960, Bill married Donna (Ridenour) Jensen to this Union 2 boys were born William Raymond and Bernard Lee. Bill and Donna had their 58th Wedding Anniversary on June 5th, 2018. Bill enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends. His love of horses got him in trouble a few times he used up 7 of his 9 lives. Bill did a lot helping the kids during the 4-H Horse club. He was really proud of his boys when they brought home the trophy against those horses that had been trained. Most of the time, if you saw Bill he was on a horse.

When Bills Dad was killed in a wreck in 1962, Bill’s mom moved to Broken Bow. Bill leased the ranch. In 2001 they bought the ranch. Which filled a lifelong dream.

In 1971 Bill and his family moved to Platte Cattle Co which Bill worked with Jim Brown. They were there for 17 years. While there they added 4 extra boys Kurt Bell, Paul Kulp, Eldon and Shaun Schripporeit.

They stayed with them for the last 3 years of High School, it was a wonderful time. Bill enjoyed the sport of coyote hunting. He would go coyote hunting and then work on his dog wagon all the next week. Mike Baxter wrote a song about it, which told it how it was.

Bill has four grandchildren, three boys and one girl, seven great-grandchildren, five boys and two girls so look like the Jensen name will be here for some time.

Bill leaves to mourn his passing. His wife Donna, two sons William (Lauri), and Bernard (Susan), grandchildren Tori, Cash (Melody), Caleb (Alaina) and Jacob, great-grandchildren

Joshua, Ava, Holt, Carter, Waylon, Haizlee, and Jaton. A lot of friends and neighbors.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Wallace (Lois) and Lyndell (MaryElla), two sisters Carol (Ronald) Bain, and Mildred (Ron) Beavers. Bill was born in the house he passed away in at 81 years old.
