Funeral Services for Wanda Lee (Hills) Kopf, age 94

Wanda Lee (Hills) Kopf, age 94 of Broken Bow, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Custer Care in Broken Bow.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Monday, December 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska with Pastor Victor Rasmussen officiating.  A Celebration of Life will be held for Wanda at a later date at the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo.  Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, Custer Care in Broken Bow, or Dawson County Relay for Life.   Reynolds-Love Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.  Please share online condolences with the family by visiting: reynoldslovefuneralhome.com.  The family has honored Wanda’s wishes for cremation.  There will be no visitation.

 Wanda was born July 15, 1923, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, to Leo Francis and Mildred Gunile (Hines) Hills.  She attended elementary school in Saginaw, Missouri, and graduated high school in Neosho, Missouri. 

 Following her schooling, she went to work for the Meeker Company in Joplin, Missouri, then Boeing Aeronautics in Wichita.  It was in Wichita she met the love of her life, Ferdinand Kopf.  The couple married September 1, 1946, in Wichita.  Three children were blessed to this marriage; Randy, Candace, and Brian.  The family moved to Nebraska, to the Kopf Ranch, in 1948-1949.  Wanda lived on the ranch all her married life, until the past 3 years when she lived in Broken Bow.

 Wanda was a well-respected businesswoman in Lexington for many years.  She began her career at Trautman’s Tot’s & Teens, Rita’s Town & Country, and retired from Patty’s Hallmark when she was 84 years old.  She was a bright spot for each business she was affiliated with. 

 She was an excellent cook and loved living in the country being around the animals and nature.  Wanda was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church at Buffalo.

 Survivors include her children; Randy (Nancy) Kopf of Lexington, Nebraska, Candace Kopf of Broken Bow, Nebraska, and Brian Kopf of Eddyville, Nebraska; brother, Hugh Hills of Neosho, Missouri, sister, Darlene Hills of Neosho, Missouri; two granddaughters, Tiffany Kopf of Evergreen, Colorado, and Brandie (Jason) Connerley of Elkhorn, Nebraska; four great-grandchildren, Saul Buhrman, Josh, Paige & Zoey Connerley; as well as extended family and many friends.

 Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Ferdinand.
