Cheryl Lee Davidson was born July 2, 1945, to Duane and Eleanor (Green) Kraus in Loup City, Nebraska. She graduated from Sargent High School in 1963 and attended Kearney State College. She and her husband Jim were married on December 29, 1964, at the United Methodist Church in Sargent, Nebraska. To this union two children were born; Neil and Natalie. The couple lived in Brighton, Colorado from 1964 to 1969 where Jim worked for the Colorado Extension Service. In 1969 Cheryl and Jim returned to Nebraska, and starting from scratch, began building a new family and farm on the original Huffman homestead in the Milburn area. The creation of their farm & ranch operation, focused on family and serving three future generations, was a legacy that made Cheryl incredibly proud. Jim and Cheryl happily celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2014.
From an early age, Cheryl gained a true love for horses from her Grandpa Buck. This love continued throughout the rest of her life and this dedication allowed her to be a vital part of her and Jim’s ranch operation; particularly if it involved the horses. Her appreciation for horses has been passed down to many. Cheryl also showed her dedication to family and friends by attending many events, from rodeos to sporting events to choir concerts.
Cheryl received our Lord through baptism in the Middle Loup River on June 24, 1973. Through the years, she was involved in Bible studies with neighbors and friends in the Milburn area.
Cheryl was preceded in death by husband Jim, her parents Duane and Eleanor, grandson Ryan Peterson, and Herb Heckman.
Cheryl is survived by her son Neil (Mona) Davidson of Milburn and daughter Natalie Davidson of Thedford. Her granddaughter Cassey (Josh) Younghans and grandson Cash Reynolds. Granddaughter, Amber (Jason) Lamb and great-grandchildren Halsey, Lilly, and Aden. Her brothers Don (Sandy) Kraus of Holdrege, Tom Kraus of Lincoln and sister Janet (Randy) Loughran of Broken Bow. Extended family includes Deb (Dallas) Burroughs of Hallam and John (Rhonda) Green of Denver, CO. Sister-in-law, Joan (Norbert) Lovata of Madison, WI. Brothers-in-law Duane Davidson of Denver, CO and John (Linda) Davidson of Nalcrest, FL along with many nieces and nephews.
