Georgene Ferguson McCarthy, 67, of Henryetta, Oklahoma, died Friday, September 10, 2021 at Ascension St John Hospital in Tulsa, Ok. A Celebration of Life will be October 22nd there will be a ceremony/ service @ 3:30 pm followed by a fellowship meet & greet meal from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Abundant Life Christian Center in Grand Island, Ne. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
Georgene was born November 30, 1953, to George and Grace (Jones) Ferguson in Sargent, Nebraska. Georgene attended Loup County High School, where she graduated in 1972. During this time she met the love of her life, Norman McCarthy, they were married the same year and spent 49 years together. Georgene and Norm were blessed with three children, Cami (Steve) Wittwer, Joy (Jeff) Williamson, and Clint (Grace Kim) McCarthy. They were also blessed with two much loved granddaughters, Annie (Clint) Murray and Cali Witttwer. Georgene enjoyed working with children and served in various church ministry capacities throughout her adult life in Grand Island and Lincoln NE
She was preceded in death by her father George, mother Grace, step-father Hugh Russell, sister Darlene, brother-in-law Jim Hollowell, nieces Amy Ferguson and Melisa Ferguson, and parents-in-law Elmer & Esta McCarthy.
