Danny Woodhead was released Tuesday by the Baltimore Ravens.
The nine-year NFL veteran from North Platte, Nebraska, signed a three-year deal with the Ravens last offseason worth $8.8 million, but injuries hampered his one season in Baltimore. Woodhead missed half the season with a hamstring injury and accounted for 256 yards of offense with no touchdowns.
Woodhead will now become a free agent in search of a new team, which would be his fifth since entering the league undrafted in 2009.
“Thanks to the Ravens organization for the last year!” Woodhead wrote on Twitter. “Can’t wait for my next stop!”
Woodhead has played in only 10 games over the last two seasons. He dealt with the hamstring injury in 2017 and missed all but two games in 2016 after tearing his ACL. He also tore his ACL in 2014.
In his career, Woodhead has 2,698 receiving yards, 2,238 rushing yards and 32 offensive touchdowns.
