State Football Playoffs – Class D1 and D2 move to 2nd Round While Other Classes Begin

The round of 16 has been seeded for Classes D1 and D2 in the state football playoffs.  Sandhills/Thedford is the #5 seed in the D2 bracket and will host Loomis on Friday in Thedford.  The game is scheduled to kickoff at 6pm and will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  With the help of area businesses and Sandhills/Thedford, the game will also be streamed live accompanied by the radio call on sandhillsexpress.com, Sandhills Express facebook page, twitter, and You Tube.

Ansley/Litchfield is into the 2nd round of the D2 playoffs.  Following their win over Riverside last week, the Spartans are the #15 seed in the bracket and will host Bruning/Davenport/Shickley at Ansley in the round of 16 Friday night.  The game is scheduled to kickoff at 6pm and will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and on kcni1280.com.

Arcadia/Loup City is the #12 seed in the D1 playoffs and will host Stanton in round 2.  The Rebels are on a roll and considered one of the scariest double digit seeds in the field.  The game will be played in Loup City with a 6 pm scheduled kickoff.  Burwell is the #3 seed in the round of 16 and will play on the road at Howells/Dodge.

SEM makes the 6 man state playoff field.  The Mustangs are the #11 seed and will face a familiar foe as they travel to play the Paxton Tigers.  The two played each other last week to conclude the regular season with Paxton winning 30-24.  Friday’s game is scheduled to kickoff at 6 pm (mountain time) in Paxton.

Cozad and Gothenburg both made the Class C1 state playoff field.  Cozad is the #14 seed and will play at St. Paul while Gothenburg, the #11 seed, will play at Lincoln Christian.
