The Broken Bow Spirit Blue girls softball team dropped a doubleheader Wednesday to the KCGSA Nebraska Krush 16U team.
The Spirit Blue offense was kept in check during the evening. The Spirit dropped game one 5-0. Shaylee Chilewski, Nikki Peters, and Brianna Mowery each collected a hit for the Spirit. Victoria Coleman was in the circle giving up 5 runs on just 4 hits and struck out 4.
In game two, the Krush jumped out early with 4 runs in the first inning and then added 6 more in the third to put the game out of reach en route to a 10-1 win. Nikki Peters came across in the first inning for Bow’s lone run of the game as the Spirit was held to just 2 hits.
The Broken Bow Spirit Blue is back in action tonight as they travel to play the Sandhills Sharks 18U in North Loup.
The Broken Bow Spirit White 18U team is scheduled to travel to Cozad for a doubleheader tonight.
