South Loup Wins Girls and Boys Team Title at MNAC Track Championships

The Mid Nebraska Activities Conference Track and Field championships took place Thursday in Arnold.  South Loup won the girls team championship with 145 points.  Sandhills/Thedford was second with 100 points and Mullen was third with 79.   South Loup also won the boys team title with 89 points.  Brady was second with 84 points and Sandhills Valley was third with 81.

Among the area highlights, Reagan Cool of South Loup was the champion in the girls pole vault and set a new MNAC conference record clearing 10’6″.  Isabelle Stallbaumer of South Loup won the girls shot put with an effort of 35’8″.  Charlie Vickers of South Loup won the high jump clearing 4’8″.  Shelby Welsh of Mullen was the conference champion in the girls long jump with an effort of 16’1″ and Elsie Ottun of Twin Loup won the girls triple jump with an effort of 32’6″.  Koral Schmidt of Anselmo-Merna won the girls 400 in a time of 1:03.5.  Peyton Paxton of Mullen won the 3200 in a new conference record time of 12:38.  Dayle Haake of Sandhills/Thedford won the girls 100 meter hurdles in a winning time of 16.3 seconds.  Haake was also conference champion in the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 49.8 seconds.  Taylor Weber of Sandhills/Thedford won the girls 800 in a time of 2:35.1.  Tallianna Martin of South Loup won the conference title in the 1600 with a time of 5:39.3.  Halie Recoy of South Loup won the 100 meter dash in winning time of 13.1 seconds and Bryn Schwarz of South Loup won the 200 in a time of 27.5 seconds.

On the boys side, Tad Dimmitt of Sandhills Valley swept the boys throwing events winning the shot put with an effor to 53′ and won the discus with an effort of 136’7″.  Wyat Lambertson of Anselmo-Merna was the boys long jump champion with an effort of 19’6.75″.  Seth Scranton of Sandhills/Thedford was champion in the boys triple jump with an winning effort of 40’6.5″.  Silas Cool of South Loup was champion of the boys pole vault clearing 12′ to win the event.  Cache Gracey of South Loup won the boys 400 in a winning time of 51.7 seconds.  Trevor Kuncl of Mullen won the boys 3200 in a time of 10:37.9.  Kuncl of Mullen claimed gold in the 1600 meters as well  setting a new conference record in a time of 4:44.9.  Clayton Moore of Mullen was a double gold medal winner winning the boys 110 meter high hurdles in a time of 15.8 and winning the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 41.7 seconds.  Silas Cool of South Loup won the 800 in a time of 2:06.9.

In the relays, Mullen won the girls 4×800 meter relay in a new conference record time of 10:37.6.  South Loup won the girls 4×100 in a time of 53.0 and Sandhills/Thedford won the girls 4×400 in a time of 4:27.3.

South Loup won the boys 4×800 meter relay in a winning time of 8:52.2.  Sandhills/Thedford won the boys 4×100 in a time of 45.2 seconds which set a new conference record.
