South Loup Boys Finish 2nd and South Loup Girls 3rd at Mike Troxel Track Invite

Hershey hosted the Mike Troxel Track and Field Invitational Monday. South Loup was among the teams that competed. The South Loup boys finished 2nd behind Chase County in the team standings and the South Loup girls came in third behind champion Chase County and runner-up North Platte St. Pat’s. Kalen Dockweiler took gold for the Bobcats in the boys 800 meter run. Dockweiler’s winning time was 2:03.095. South Loup produced another strong showing in the relays. Leighton Bubak, Blake Schwarz, Jack Rush, and Landon Furne teamed up to win the 4×100 in a time of 45.489 while Kalen Dockweiler, Jace Connell, Cooper Atkins, and Blake Brown posted the winning time in the 4×800 at 8:45.112. In the field events, Cade Connell secured gold for the Bobcats in the boys high jump by clearing 6’1″ for the win.

The South Loup girls were led by Jadeyn Bubak who continued her dominance in the sprints. Bubak won the 100 in a time of 13.647 and posted the winning time in the 200 at 27.489. Landyn Cole also claimed gold for the Lady Bobcats by winning the 3200 in a time of 13:03.329. In the field events, Taylor Conroy placed first in the girls long jump with a winning effort of 16’1″.
