Omaha Skutt running back Jarod Epperson helped Team Nebraska defeat Team Iowa 35-20 in the River Battle Bowl at Gale Wickersham Athletic Complex in Council Bluffs on Saturday.

Epperson, fresh off of a six-touchdown performance on Tuesday in the Class B state championship game led Team Nebraska with four touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving) and was named offensive MVP. He finished the game with 22 carries for 172 yards and one catch for 16 yards.

The Team Nebraska win evened the series at 2-2.

Omaha Creighton Prep’s Luke Sims, Team Nebraska’s defensive MVP, had seven tackles including three for loss and one strip sack. Elkhorn Mt. Michael senior Garrett Hustedt led Team Nebraska with ten tackles.
