Omaha Roncalli graduate Alec Bohm, the No. 3 overall pick in last week’s MLB draft, has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, the team announced Tuesday.
Bohm, who received a reported $5.85 million signing bonus, was scheduled to begin a workout program in Clearwater, Florida, on Wednesday, according to Phillies director of amateur scouting Johnny Almaraz.
Bohm, a two-time All-Nebraska selection, played three seasons at Wichita State. He batted .339 with 16 home runs and 55 RBIs as a junior this season.
