Teams will attempt to qualify for the state football championship game in their respective class today in 11 and 6 man football. One of the matchups in Class A will pair up two unbeatens as top seed Millard West will host undefeated Bellevue West at 8pm. The other Class A semifinal will feature 10-1 Millard South against 9-2 Omaha Westside. The Class A championship will be played Tuesday, November 26 at 7:15 PM at Memorial Stadium.
Top seed Scottsbluff will put its undefeated record on the line tonight when they travel to 9-2 Omaha Roncalli in one of the Class B semifinals. In the other semi, undefeated Omaha Skutt will host 10-1 Waverly. The winners will advance to play one another for the Class B title on Monday, November 25th at 7:15 PM
Three of the four remaining teams in Class C1 are undefeated. In one semifinal, the top seed and undefeated Adams Central will host undefeated Pierce while the #2 seed and undefeated Wahoo will host 9-2 Wayne today. Those two met back on August 30th in the season opener with Wahoo winning big 47-0. The C1 championship is scheduled for Tuesday November 26th at 10:15 AM.
In Class C2, there are two undefeated teams remaining and they will play each other when undefeated St. Paul travels to play undefeated Oakland Craig. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pm. In the other semifinal, top seed Sutton (10-1) travels to BRLD (Bancroft Rosalie Lyons Decatur). The C2 championship will be played Tuesday, November 26 at 2:45 PM.
The Class D6, six man, semifinals will be played today as well. The four teams remaining are all undefeated yet. In today’s first semifinal, top seed Cody-Kilgore will host McCool Junction then later it will be undefeated Creek Valley hosting undefeated Harvard. The six man championship will be played Friday, November 22nd at 7 PM at UNK’s Cope Stadium.
