Northeast Community College uses four-run eighth to rally past Monroe

Enid, Okla. — Northeast Community College scored four in the bottom of the eighth to rally past Monroe 13-12 in its NJCAA Division II World Series debut Sunday.

Donovan Warren, Derek Botaletto and Drew Smith had RBI singles in the eighth. Elkhorn graduate Smith went 4 for 4 with four runs and three RBIs while Bellevue West product Bryce Walker was 4 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.

Northeast will face second-seeded Madison (Wis.) at 1 p.m. Monday.
