Nebraska High School Rodeo Visits Broken Bow This Past Weekend

The Nebraska High School Rodeo made a stop in Broken Bow this past weekend for two performances. A lot of great performances were turned in by area cowboys and cowgirls. Some of the area highlights on Saturday included Cooper Bass of Brewster winning the boys cutting with a score of 73. Lillian Fletcher of Arnold won the pole bending on Saturday with a time of 21.21 seconds and finished as runner-up in breakaway roping. Jace Hurlburt of Arcadia teamed up with Tate Talkington of Scottsbluff to win the team roping in a time of 8.18 seconds.  Jymmie Jensen of Burwell finished as the runner-up in the barrel racing.

On Sunday, it was a big day for Cooper Bass of Brewster who won the boys all around title highlighted by his championship performance in the boys cutting with a winning score of 74. Other area highlights on Sunday included Taci Flinn of Arcadia winning the barrel racing in a time of 14.843 seconds. For the second straight day, Lillian Fletcher won the pole bending (20.889), and Slate Micheel of Sargent had the only qualified ride of the day in the barebacks winning it with a score of 60.  Runner-up performances from the area Sunday included Jymmie Jensen of Burwell in the barrels, Hanna Huffman of Burwell in the goat tying, and Zane Kreikemeier of Callaway was 2nd in the tie down roping.
