Nebraska High School Rodeo Competes at Atkinson and Valentine Over the Weekend

Nebraska high school rodeo competitors were in Atkinson and Valentine this past weekend.

Among the area highlights in Atkinson on Saturday, Cooper Bass of Brewster won the boys cutting with a score of 73.  Madison Mills of Eddyville placed first in the pole bending with a winning time of 21.441 seconds.  Brody McAbee tied for first in the saddle broncs with a winning score of 70.

On Sunday in Valentine, Jace Hurlburt of Arcadia won the girls all around title.  Hurlburt was third in the breakaway roping and was 4th in the team roping.  Other area highlights on Sunday included Taci Flinn of Arcadia winning the barrel racing in a time of 17.542 seconds.  Cooper Bass won the boys cutting with a score of 74.  Madison Mills won the pole bending Sunday in a time of 21.043 seconds.  Brody McAbee of Ansley won the saddle broncs with a 78 score, Dane Pokorny of Stapleton won the steer wrestling with a winning time of 4.87 seconds and Cody Miller of Broken Bow posted the top time in the tie down roping at 9.84 seconds.  Spencer DeNaeyer of Seneca was the bareback champion Sunday with a score of 65.
