National High School Rodeo Finals Update – 7/18

The National High School Rodeo Finals continue through Saturday in Rock Springs, WY. Along with the rodeo events, the National Finals also holds the light rifle competition which took place on Tuesday. The champion of that event was Roberto Galaz of New Mexico who finished with a 341 total to win the event. Andrea Meyer of Stapleton qualified for the event and finished 35th overall with a total score of 278.

After 8 performances, Utah is leading the girls team standings with Kansas currently 2nd and Oklahoma 3rd. Team Nebraska was sitting 21st heading into the Thursday evening performance.

Texas is leading the boys team standings with Idaho 2nd and Utah 3rd. Team Nebraska has had a good showing sitting just outside the top ten in 11th place after 8 performances with Colten Storer of Arthur tied for tenth in the All Around Cowboy standings.
