High School Football on KCNI/KBBN – Broken Bow vs Ord (KCNI) – Twin Loup vs Clearwater/Orchard (KBBN)

It’s another big high school football Friday night around the area this evening.  Central Nebraska’s Sports Source will present two radio broadcasts tonight.  In the KBBN 8 man area game of the week, the spotlight will be put on the Twin Loup Wolves.  The Wolves will try to get back on the winning track after dropping their last 4 games.  However, that 4 game stretch was perhaps as challenging as any in the state.  Twin Loup went up against Riverside, Kenesaw, CWCE, and Central Valley in that stretch who are a combined 19-3 coming into this week and have either been ranked or are currently ranked in their respective class.  Twin Loup should still have the opportunity to play themselves back into the playoff picture coming down the stretch and they will start that process tonight when they host Clearwater/Orchard in Sargent.  Tonight’s game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  Coverage will begin with the Consolidated Companies pregame show at 6pm and the kickoff is scheduled for 7.

The Broken Bow Indians will go on the road tonight as they renew their rivalry with the Ord Chanticleers.  There have been many memorable battles between the two through the years and another chapter in the series will be written tonight.  The Chants are 4-2 this year and are currently ranked #9 in the Class C1 ratings put out by the Omaha World Herald.  Bow enters at 1-5 but have fought and improved each week and will look to put it all together tonight as they look for the upset.  Tonight’s game will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and on the web at kcni1280.com.  Coverage begins with the Custer Federal State Bank pregame show at 6pm with the kickoff scheduled for 7.

It’s a D1-8 district showdown tonight as Arcadia/Loup City (4-1) travels to Burwell (4-1) both teams are chasing Elm Creek in the district who is 5-0 and owns a victory over Burwell and will play Arcadia/Loup City in the final week of the regular season.

Anselmo-Merna got back on the winning track last Friday with an impressive win against Bertrand on the road.  The Coyotes rolled up 78 points in the win and will look to carry that momentum into today’s test as they host Overton.

Sandhills Valley (Stapleton/McPherson County) will look to strengthen their playoff resume today as they travel to meet undefeated Sioux County in six man action.  The Mavericks have won 3 of their last 4.  In other six man action tonight, SEM will look to even their overall record as they host Maywood-Hayes Center.

After losing their first two games of the year, Cozad has won their last 4 and will try to keep that winning streak going tonight.  It won’t be easy though as they host 5-1 Kearney Catholic in a pivotal C1-6 district matchup.  Speaking of pivotal district matchups, another will take place in the C1-7 district tonight as Gothenburg (5-1) hosts Valentine (4-2).
