Girls State Golf Round One Complete – Broken Bow’s Madison Jackson Tied for 8th in Class C After Opening Round

Mother Nature blessed competitors with a beautiful day for the opening round of the 2019 NSAA girls golf state championships on Monday. Broken Bow is among those competing at the Class C tournament at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte. After day one, Bow is in the middle of the pack in the team standings. Broken Bow sits 8th out of 15 teams going into round 2 after a team total 404 on Monday. It’s a tight team race at the top after the opening round. Lincoln Lutheran is first with a 378 followed by Lincoln Christian in second with a 384, Kearney Catholic is third with a 387, and Norfolk Catholic is fourth with a 388. Broken Bow’s Madison Jackson is in medal contention after day one. The top fifteen individuals medal at state and Jackson is currently tied for 8th after shooting a 90 in round one. Abbigail Brodersen of Boone Central and Payton Wise of Kimball are tied for the individual lead after shooting rounds of 6 over par 78. Lynzi Becker of Cozad is third after an opening round 80. The rest of the Broken Bow scoring from day one included : Avery Campbell – 101 ; Emery Custer – 106 ; Joscelyn Coleman – 107 ; and Graycee Oeltjen – 115.
