North Carolina 7, Stetson 4: Cody Roberts hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the fifth to lift North Carolina. The Tar Heels, the No. 6 national seed, can clinch their first College World Series trip since 2013 by winning Saturday. Roberts’ shot against Hatters ace Logan Gilbert came with two outs in the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie. Michael Busch added a two-run shot in the seventh after Stetson closed to within 4-3. The loss snapped a school-record 18-game winning streak for Stetson, marking its first loss since April 22.

Mississippi State 10, Vanderbilt 8: Elijah MacNamee hit a walk-off home run to boost Mississippi State in a back and forth game. The Bulldogs led 7-2 after three innings, but the Commodores scored five runs in the top of the fifth to tie it. Mississippi State regained the lead in the bottom of the eight off an RBI single from Jake Mangum, but Vanderbilt tied it again in the top of the ninth.

Oregon State 8, Minnesota 1: Trevor Larnach and Adley Rutschman hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning to lift No. 3 national seed Oregon State. Larnach finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Rutschman added an RBI double followed by Michael Gretler’s RBI triple in the seventh for the Beavers. Oregon State starter Luke Heimlich went 82⁄3 innings with nine strikeouts and seven hits. He left the game to a standing ovation in his last home game. Minnesota, the No. 10 national seed, scored on a home run by Toby Hanson in the eighth.

Washington 8, Cal State Fullerton 5: Levi Jordan was 3 for 4 with two RBIs to extend his hitting streak to eight games for Washington. The Huskies scored two runs in the fifth inning — including Jordan’s sacrifice fly — to give Fullerton its first deficit this postseason. Freshman Kaiser Weiss hit a two-run double in the ninth after entering as a defensive replacement.
