Today Central Nebraska’s Sports Source continues its series of previews highlighting some of our area sports teams as we prepare for the beginning of the fall sports season. Today we put the spotlight on the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes. The Coyotes will look to improve on a 3-5 season from a year ago. A key to a successful season many times begins with the work put in during the summer in the weight room. AM head coach Matt McGinn shared with us that they revamped the weight program a little this summer and he has been very pleased with the way the players have responded. Coach McGinn shared with us that the numbers are up this year for participation due in part to 15 incoming freshman. AM will be tested early as they begin the season on the road at Twin Loup on August 23rd and then host Mullen the following week on August 31st. KCNI/KBBN will partner with News Channel Nebraska for a special TV broadcast of the Twin Loup game and KBBN 95.3 FM will provide radio coverage of the week #2 tilt with Mullen.
