Broken Bow Track Team Prepares for 2019 Season

Like all local spring sports teams, the Broken Bow track and field team has had their preparation and practice schedule hampered by the adverse weather conditions we have experienced. Broken Bow head track coach Kurt Altig told Central Nebraska’s Sports Source that they have been doing what they can to prepare and get into condition. Broken Bow has 76 participants out for track this season with a majority of them underclassmen. According to Coach Altig, the limited opportunity to get out on the track has made it difficult to get a good feel for where some of the talent lies in the younger athletes. Bow does have three returning state qualifiers that they will lean on for leadership this season. Grayson Garey in the sprints, Lindsay Schauda in the hurdles, and Matt Ambler in the pole vault. The Indians are now planning to start their track season at the GICC meet scheduled for March 29th.
