Broken Bow Track Team Competes at Dave Gee Invite

The Broken Bow boys and girls track teams competed at the Dave Gee Invite hosted by Northwest High School in Grand Island on Friday.  Broken Bow placed 6th in the boys team standings and the Bow girls finished 8th.  Northwest won both the girls and boys team titles.

Among the Broken Bow highlights on the day, Kailyn Scott placed in the top 3 of the girls 400 finishing third with a time of 1:02.45.  Makinley Tobey was runner-up in the girls 1600 in a time of 5:46.45 and Kali Staples placed 4th (5:52.36).  Both finished in the top 5 of the 3200 as well with Tobey placing third (12:31.93) and Staples placed 4th (12:35.86).  In the field events, Kya Scott placed 5th in the shot put (34’5″) and was runner-up in the high jump clearing 4’11”.  Kate Lynn Dickau tied for 6th in the girls high jump clearing 4’9″.

On the boys side, Daine Wardyn and Noah Osmond both placed in the top six of the 1600 as Wardyn was 4th (4:55.66) and Osmond was 6th (5:01.72).  Each placed in the top 6 of the 3200 as well with Wardyn the runner-up in a time of 10:40.34 and Osmond 5th in a time of 10:53.38.  Zane Eggleston placed 5th in the boys 300 meter hurdles (43.79).  Tyler Thomas placed fifth in boys discus (132’9″).  Brody Ridder cleared 12’9″ in the boys pole vault to finish 4th.  Qwentin Coble was third in the boys long jump (20′ 5.5″) and placed 6th in the triple jump (39’2″).
