Broken Bow Legion Teams Sweep Doubleheader at St. Paul

The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors traveled to St. Paul Friday night for a doubleheader.  The Broken Bow American Legion juniors baseball team continued their winning ways Friday night.  Bow jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first two innings then added four runs in the fifth inning to secure a 9-1 win in five innings.  Austin Harvey was great on the mound giving up only one hit and no runs through four innings of work.  Brice Chaplin pitched an inning of relief giving up one run and striking out 2.  Broken Bow scored their nine runs on 13 hits.  Eli Coble was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 1 run batted in.  Brice Chaplin was 2 for 3 with a run scored and 1 RBI.  The Bow juniors are now 5-0 on the season.

The Broken Bow American Legion seniors won their second game in a row with an 11-6 victory over St. Paul.  Both teams got off to a fast start as Broken Bow scored 3 runs in the first but St. Paul quickly responded with 5 runs in their first at bat.  St. Paul would only score one more run the rest of the night while Broken Bow would score 7 runs in the final three innings to secure the win.  Bow scored their 11 runs on 14 hits.  Blake Denson was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and Sawyer Bumgarner was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.  Keifer Anderson and Caden Holm also had muti- hit games for the Bow seniors.  The Bow seniors are now 3-5 on the season.

Broken Bow will travel to Ogallala Saturday for a juniors and seniors doubleheader.
