Broken Bow Legion Teams Fall to Imperial

The Broken Bow American Legion Juniors and Seniors baseball teams both fell to Imperial Wednesday night in games played at Broken Bow’s Paul Brown Field.

The Juniors team dropped its second game in a row as Imperial came back for a 6-5 victory. Broken Bow led 5-2 going to the fifth but Imperial would score 4 runs in the fifth to take the lead. The sixth would prove to be the final inning due to time constraints. Bow had the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth but could not score as Imperial held on for the win. Cyrus Wells went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI to lead the Bow offense. Sawyer Bumgarner and Nathan Sweet also finished 2 for 3 as the Bow Juniors are now 2-2 on the season.

In the Seniors game, Imperial jumped out early and never looked back. Imperial sent 11 men to the plate and scored 6 runs in their first at bat then added 3 runs in the 2nd and 2 more in the third. Broken Bow would get a lead off double from Blake Denson in the bottom of the first inning and and would come around to score what would be Bow’s only run of the night as Imperial won 11-1 in five innings.

Bow will travel to Alma for a Juniors and Seniors doubleheader on Friday.
