The Broken Bow high school girls and boys bowling teams competed at Westside Lanes in Grand Island Sunday to open their seasons. The Broken Bow girls team lost to Hastings 15-4 but came back to defeat the Kearney Gold team 12-7. Top scores were turned in by Lizzy Nielsen (168) and Erin Clay (153). The Broken Bow boys team also started the season 1-1. Bow lost to Hastings 17-2 but bounced back with an 11-8 victory over Holdrege. Top scores were turned in by Shay Herman (236) and Brady Schaaf (216). Both teams are back in action this weekend when they compete at the Big Apple Fun Center in Kearney on Sunday.
