Broken Bow Girls Advance to SWC Semifinals – Broken Bow Boys Fall in Overtime

The Broken Bow girls basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Southwest Conference Tournament with a 63-26 win over Cozad.  Broken Bow outscored Cozad 20-6 in the 2nd quarter to pull away and improve their overall record to 16-1 on the season.  Halle McCaslin had a big game off the bench to lead the Bow offense as the freshman scored a game high 18 points.  The Lady Indians advance to conference tournament semifinals for the fourth consecutive year as they search for their fourth consecutive conference tournament title.  Broken Bow will play Gothenburg in the semifinals.  Gothenburg defeated Minden Wednesday night 49-35.  The two will play Friday at 3:30 at Kearney High School.  The game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com.

The Broken Bow boys fell in overtime to Gothenburg Wednesday night in the opening round of the SWC boys basketball tournament.  Wes Geiken’s layup in the final 3 seconds of overtime lifted Gothenburg to victory and a spot in the SWC boys semifinals.  Broken Bow will play Ainsworth in the consolation bracket Thursday night in Gothenburg.  Broken Bow had three players finish in double figures led by Keegan Baxter with 17.  Blake Denson and Austin Harvey each finished with 10.  Broken Bow’s consolation game will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.
