Broken Bow Boys Golf Team is Headed to State / Walker of Mullen and Leibhart of AM also Headed to State Golf

The Broken Bow boys golf team placed second at the C-4 district tournament Monday at Centura Hills Golf Course. The Indians finished with a team total 324 and finished just 2 shots behind district champion Grand Island Central Catholic who shot a 322. Kearney Catholic placed third with a 336. With the 2nd place finish, Broken Bow qualifies as a team for the Class C boys state golf championships which will take place May 22 and 23 at the Kearney Country Club. Griffin Wright led the way for the Indians. Wright had the low round of the tournament and was crowned the district champion with a 75. Jared Kahnk finished in the top ten. Kahnk placed 8th with an 81. Josh Harvey, Spencer Gaffney, and Cole Ulmer also turned in a solid round for the Indians as each shot an 84. Arcadia/Loup City also competed at the C-4 district and finished with a team total 410. The Rebels were led by Macrae Maschka who shot a team low 95.

Jace Leibhart of Anselmo-Merna will represent the Coyotes at the Class D boys state golf championship which will take place at Lake Maloney golf course in North Platte on May 22 and 23. Leibhart placed 2nd with an 83 at the D-3 district tournament hosted by Clearwater at the Summerland Golf Course. Joining Leibhart in the Class D state tournament will be Koby Walker of Mullen. Walker placed first at the D-5 district tournament at Legend Buttes at Crawford with an 18 hole round of 78.

Dillon Geiser and Adam Cole of Cozad qualified for the Class B boys state golf tournament. Both placed in the top ten at the B-4 district tournament played at West Winds in Ogallala. Geiser placed 2nd with a 76 and Adam Cole placed 4th with a 77.
